Founding of Tian Yun Beijing Opera Society
Established on 11th September 1992 in Singapore.
Educational Outreach Begins
Started teaching Beijing Opera at Dunman High School, establishing a tradition that continues to this day.
International Performance Tour
First international tour to Beijing, collaborating with local opera professionals.
Youth Group Formation
Established the Youth Group to nurture the next generation of Beijing Opera enthusiasts.
20th Anniversary Celebration
Grand performance at Victoria Theatre celebrating two decades of cultural preservation.
30th Anniversary
Celebrated 30 years of promoting Beijing Opera in Singapore with a special anniversary performance.

Our Team
Meet the dedicated artists and leaders behind Tian Yun Beijing Opera Society
With over 30 years of experience in Beijing Opera, Zhang Wei has been leading Tian Yun since 2005. Trained at the Beijing Opera Academy, he specializes in laosheng (older male) roles.

Lin Mei is renowned for her portrayal of dan (female) roles. She has been with Tian Yun for 15 years and has performed in major productions across Asia.

A master of traditional Chinese instruments, Wang Jie oversees all musical aspects of our performances. He is also a respected teacher of Beijing Opera music.
