Meet the dedicated artists and leaders behind Tian Yun Beijing Opera Society

Zhang Wei

With over 30 years of experience in Beijing Opera, Zhang Wei has been leading Tian Yun since 2005. Trained at the Beijing Opera Academy, he specializes in laosheng (older male) roles.

Lin Mei

Lin Mei is renowned for her portrayal of dan (female) roles. She has been with Tian Yun for 15 years and has performed in major productions across Asia.

Wang Jie

A master of traditional Chinese instruments, Wang Jie oversees all musical aspects of our performances. He is also a respected teacher of Beijing Opera music.
